Well-known Android apps fail basic security tests, putting privacy at risk

Instagram, Grindr, OkCupid, and many other Android applications fail to take fundamental precautions to protect their users’ data, putting their privacy at risk, according to new study.

The findings comes from the University of New Haven’s Cyber Forensics Research and Education and learning Group (UNHcFREG) , which recording found vulnerabilities in the messaging applications WhatsApp plus Viber.
